Vikki Day

Ordinand, Deanery Mission Developer and Licenced Lay Minister

Hi, I’m Vikki Day and I’m the Mission Developer for Stourport Deanery and also a Reader (Licensed Lay Minister) – the focus of my ministry is to equip and enable people be who God is calling them to be and to flourish in their mission and ministry wherever that may be.

Some of the things I’m involved in this area include; leading and co-ordinating Shrawley & the Witley’s Cafe Church as well as being part of the wider worship team, leading services and preaching. I am also involved as a key minister at Great Witley school, supporting the headteacher and staff and working collaboratively to engage with creative spirituality.

I’m currently training to be a priest in the Church of England and have become a student at college once more – I’m really enjoying being part of the Queens Theological College Community. Things have improved a bit since I was younger as I now attend all the lectures and work is handed in on time :o)

I came back to faith in my late 20s and have enjoyed learning about God and my relationship with God and what it means to be a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. I think my faith has been more of an ‘Emmaus’ road experience – things have gradually unfolded over the years and it has been a real joy and blessing to be on this journey with the people from across the 4Rivers churches and the wider area.

When I’m not working and reading for college I enjoy gardening, going for walks and socialising with family and friends. I started to learn golf which I think is great for life skills – you can’t be a perfectionist or take yourself too seriously, especially when you are hunting around in long grass for a ball that doesn’t want to be found! You would also have found me enjoying a nice cold pint of Carling in the New Inn, Shrawley – looking forward to that happening once more.
