Churchwarden, St Michael and All Angels, Great Witley

I live in Worcester City but came to the church in Great Witley as a volunteer steward in 2011, looking for something to do when I finally retired after a career in business management. Little did I realise then that a few hours a week stewarding would develop into another full-time career! I became involved in publicity and fundraising then later organising the 40 odd stewards. I had always loved anything to do with buildings so of course that led to me becoming involved with the restoration and repair of the church. With a vacancy for church warden arising four years ago it just seemed to follow on that I would take on that as well. This role has really helped with my faith, becoming much more involved in worship and services than previously.

Working at the church I have made many new friends and am constantly learning new things such as building websites and organising concerts and events with never a dull moment! I like to spend my spare time on my allotment and find that digging and watering gives me plenty of time for quiet thought and reflection.
