BUILD ON A STRONG FOUNDATION

The World Day of Prayer is an international, inter-church organisation that enables us to hear the thoughts of women from all parts of the world; their hopes, concerns and prayers.   The Day of Prayer is celebrated in over 170 countries, beginning in Samoa and prayer in native languages travels all around the world.   The services always take place on the first Friday in March which this year is March 5th.

The 2021 service has been prepared by the women of Vanuatu, an idyllic archipelago in the South Pacific, a place of ethnic and cultural diversity but vulnerable to struggles over gender equality and education and to the natural threats of tropical cyclones and earthquakes.   The theme “Build on a Strong Foundation” comes from the story told by Jesus of the man who built his house on a rock so that it stood up to the storms and the focus is on Christ as our foundation.

This year we are unable to gather together in person, but we will still be praying with the women of Vanuatu in a Zoom service at 2pm.

For the Zoom joining instructions please contact Vickie Melling at office@4rivers.church or on 01584 881 086.
